It was a question, or one very like it, that kicked off an interesting chain of events.
My post today has little to do with Second Life, or maybe everything to do with it. It’s hard to say. One of the things I love about Second Life is the fantastic array of people I get to know there, people who not only enrich SL but also give me gifts to bring back to RL as well.
A case in point resulted from a random conversation in world last week. For reasons I’m not even going to attempt to remember, the name “The Carpathia” came up. While we were chatting about that I got to wondering to whatever happened to the master of the Californian. Googling that led me to a synopsis of a book about the Carpathia and the Californian on the night of the 14th/15th 1912. It looked quite interesting.
It turns out that Miss is quite the expert on the Titanic and was able to favourably recommend it. As a result I’ve had days of enjoyment reading “The Other Side of the Night” by Daniel Allen Butler. A very much RL book I’d never have encountered except for a chance conversation in SL.
Enough writing for now, it’s late or I’d find a gown, there’s one in here somewhere, and pop over to The Titanic.
