A very quick note about today’s Lab Gab episode. Today Strawberry had a brief – the whole episode is just over 25 minutes – chat with Boston Blaisdale. Boston is a vlogger who has been creating poplar, concise tutorial videos that guide users through customizing their avatars, particularly the male avatar. Male Second Life vloggers are a sadly rare breed, but he does seem to be filling the niche quite well.
The news is that Linden Lab are hiring Boston as a contractor to create instructional content for Second Life University. This is a good thing! This is yet another example of concrete action the lab is taking to address the need to help new users figure out Second Life basics.
I’m looking forward to a lot more video tutorial links I can hand out to new users when I encounter them inworld!
